Deep Dive
1. Purpose & Value Proposition
Camp Network addresses a critical gap created by the rise of artificial intelligence: the erosion of creator control and compensation. As AI models train on vast amounts of data, traditional systems struggle to track ownership and distribute royalties. Camp's core mission is to build an "Autonomous IP Layer" where any creation—music, art, code, or data—can be registered onchain with proof of provenance. This allows creators to set licensing terms and receive automated payments whenever their IP is used or remixed, even by AI agents. The goal is to shift value from centralized platforms back to creators and establish a fair, transparent creative economy (Camp Network).
2. Technology & Architecture
The network employs a modular design for scalability and performance. It uses Celestia for data availability and consensus, separating these functions from transaction execution. The execution layer, known as BaseCAMP, is built on Reth and is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), allowing developers to port existing applications easily. For specific applications, developers can launch isolated, customizable chains called SideCAMPs. This architecture is designed to support over 50,000 transactions per second with sub-second block times, ensuring low-cost, high-speed operations for IP registration and AI agent interactions (Camp Network).
3. Tokenomics & Core Utility
The CAMP token has a fixed total supply of 10 billion and serves as the lifeblood of the network. Its primary utilities are multifaceted: it is used to pay for transaction fees (gas) on both the main chain and SideCAMPs, staked to secure the network and earn rewards, and employed to register and authorize IP onchain. Crucially, it acts as the medium for automated, programmable royalty distributions, ensuring creators are paid in CAMP when their work is licensed. A portion of the supply (15%) was allocated to the community at launch (HTX Exchange).
Conclusion
Fundamentally, Camp Network is a blockchain infrastructure project that reimagines intellectual property rights for the age of AI, combining high-performance technology with a token model designed to reward creators directly. Will its protocol-level approach to provenance become the standard for how AI ethically interacts with human creativity?
