About GIFT

$GIFT is a gold-backed digital asset on Polygon. Each $GIFT token represents one milligram of investment-grade gold held in allocated custody. $GIFT token brings the power of gold as a financial instrument to anyone who owns a cellphone or device with internet access, removing barriers to entry that have historically stopped the majority of the global population from using gold as a safe haven, savings tool, or financial tool.

New tokens are minted only when physical gold is received into the issuer's vault account, and tokens are burned when gold is redeemed, so the circulating supply cannot exceed the reserve. The on-chain supply is reconciled against the physical reserve on a quarterly cadence by HT Digital Ltd., the issuer's external auditor. Holders are KYC-verified and whitelisted at the contract level. The issuer is Ubuntu Uhuru s.r.o., a licensed Virtual Asset Service Provider in the Czech Republic.
